Celebrate your birthday with us at The Barn, Field Fodder. Immerse yourself in a delightful array of fun crafts and activities, including creative projects, engaging games, and the chance to explore our beautiful site.  If you wish, Nikki can set up a small disco system in The Barn for some lively barn dancing and party games. Our trained Forest School Leader will be there to ensure your safety, teach you about woodland skills and crafts, and organize an unforgettable session. Adults are welcome to join in the fun or take a break at the charming onsite Field Fodder Artisan Cafe and shop. Join us for a party brimming with laughter, creativity, and lasting memories. Our vibrant atmosphere and engaging activities guarantee that every birthday is a unique adventure. Whether you’re crafting, exploring, or dancing, we have something special for everyone. Make your birthday celebration a magical experience surrounded by nature and friends.

Stuffie Plushie Forest Events

Stuffie Plushie Events at Noo Noo’s

Join us for fun-filled Stuffie Plushie Events where children create and stuff their very own plushie to take home and treasure. Each session offers a different themed experience, from a Valentine’s Barn Disco with a Valentine’s teddy bear, to a Dinosaur Forest Adventure, woodland nature sessions with a squirrel, magical spell-making experiences with an owl, and an Easter woodland hunt with a bunny.

Held at our beautiful barn and woodland site, these sessions combine creativity, imaginative play, and outdoor adventure to create lasting memories for every child.

Forest Home Ed Sessions

A visit to The Barn offers exciting and enriching experiences for children of all ages. We provide a variety of activities, each designed to spark curiosity and create lasting memories. Whether it’s bush-craft, pond dipping, nature walks, exploring a ruined abbey, or engaging in field studies, there is something for everyone. Our activities are also linked to the curriculum, providing both fun and educational opportunities. Children can also enjoy hands-on crafts and outdoor experiences, all set within the stunning countryside of Durham.

Fridays 10:00 am – 11:15 am (Term Time)

Come and discover our exciting, interactive, and educational play space—where learning and fun go hand in hand! Our space features a charming rustic barn, enchanting woodland areas complete with mud kitchens, and nature all around. Enjoy local railway walks, explore pond dipping areas, and relax with a visit to our on-site coffee shop. Toilet facilities are also available for your convenience. Children can immerse themselves in a variety of activities that nurture resilience, support physical development, and inspire a love of nature. Along the way, they’ll also build knowledge and understanding of the world—and we might even sneak in some numbers, letters, and mark-making skills too. We haven’t forgotten our grown-ups! With us, you’ll have the chance to make new friends, relax in hammocks, and enjoy a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of typical indoor soft play—no ball pits required. Join us for seasonal events where creativity flows and laughter fills the air. Our themed gatherings will spark joy and wonder, from festive celebrations to nature-inspired adventures. Each visit promises new experiences, delightful surprises, and the chance to connect with the beauty of the outdoors. Bring your family and friends to create unforgettable memories in our magical setting, where every moment is an opportunity for exploration and joy.
